THIS CCTV of a suspect has been issued by British Transport Police investigating the loss on a train of a distinctive gift bag containing a gold necklace.

The bag had been left on the 2.48pm King's Cross to Bradford service on New Year's Day by a London man who got off at Halifax. In it was a Oliver Bonas necklace valued at more than £100.

Officers now want to speak to this man (pictured) who was spotted on CCTV carrying a bag out of Bradford Interchange station.

PC Andy Jones, of British Transport Police said: "The man mistakenly left the gift bag on the train.

"Upon realising it was missing he checked the station's lost property office but to no avail.

"We have viewed CCTV from the station to see who took the bag and have isolated an image of man we believe may be able to help our inquiries. If you know him, please contact us."

Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information about the incident, can call British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or text 61016, quoting reference 170 of February 5. Alternatively, ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
