MARC Green has insisted his bid to buy Odsal remains on track and revealed plans to put a roof on the Northern Terrace.

The Bulls sold the lease on their historic home to the RFL for a seven-figure sum in January 2012 as the governing body recovered a loan it had made to the club.

Bradford have since paid rent to the RFL and the freehold to the site is still owned by Bradford Council but Green has been trying for over a year to bring the lease and freehold into the club’s ownership.

The Odsal chairman said: "We’ve had a little bit of a stall and it’s with the legal teams – the issue is over car parking obligations outside the stadium.

"However, the agreement with the council has been done and the terms have been agreed.

"It’s just legal solicitors arguing between the two and doing what they do best, which is running up their costs."

Green has previously said he had no plans to erect a roof on the Northern Terrace but has now changed his stance.

He has received quotes from construction firms but said supporters would have to foot half of the £350,000 bill.

Green said: "We've actually gone out to the market and got some quotes for putting a roof on the terrace.

"It's not going to be as expensive as we perceived, with the quotes I've been given about £350,000.

"My proposal to supporters is this - I'll pay for half if you pay for half.

"That's called a partnership and I'm going to invite one or two of you to set up a quango, raise the money yourselves, keep it and at the point that you've got your half, I'll match it with our half.

"Together we will then bring in the contractor to deliver it."
