A 29-YEAR-OLD man is to be sentenced on Friday for doing £2,000 damage to Bradford Cathedral while attempting to steal lead from the historic building.
Jaroslav Kurtnota was caught by the verger trying to make off with a quantity of lead on July 24 last year, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Kurtnota, of Harrogate Street, Undercliffe, Bradford, pleaded guilty to the offence at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court and was committed to the higher court for sentence.
He appeared on a video link from Leeds Prison today, where he is also awaiting sentence for an offence of robbery.
