BRAVE residents doused a cab with water after an arsonist set it on fire in Keighley earlier today.
A man was seen by people on Edensor Road pouring flammable liquid on the vehicle and trying to set it alight at about 1.20am.
Some quick-thinking locals rushed out to try and put out the flames, before firefighters from Keighley station arrived to finish the job.
A fire service spokesman said: "It had been deliberately set on fire. Neighbours came out and tried to put the fire out with buckets of water. Then we were able to full extinguish the fire.
"A flammable liquid had been used to start the fire and police have been informed."
He added that the cab - a Toyota Prius - suffered partial damage to its front.
