Bradford's new £260m Broadway shopping centre was evacuated at 1.14pm today after alarms forced thousands to leave the 70-shop development run by Westfield.
Shoppers and staff had to quit the building and could be seen standing outside on city centre streets.
Details are still to emerge for the reason behind the mass evacuation, but one onlooker said he understood someone had set off the centre's fire alarm.
The shopping centre reopened at about 2pm.
