A SIX-year-old girl is having her long hair cut short to help raise money for a family friend who suffers from cancer.
Hannah Hussain, of Dudley Hill, Bradford, will give her curly red locks the chop at a fundraising event on Saturday.
The youngster, who attends Lowerfields Primary School, has already more than doubled her £250 target on the Just Giving website. She will also give her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides wigs to children who have lost their hair to cancer.
Her aunt, Rebecca Calvert, said: "She is adamant she wants to get her hair cut and every time she raises a bit more money she gets more excited.
"Her hair is down her back and curly and wavy. It is going to be really short - she really wants to do it and she made the decision off her own back."
Rebecca added: "I am really proud of her - I keep crying."
Hannah's haircut is taking place at a charity event, organised by Kerry Stringer, at the Woodman pub on Manchester Road, Bradford. It starts at 7.30pm and is in aid of Tanya Brannan, who has terminal cancer. There will be raffles and other fundraising activities such as leg-waxing.
