THE search for missing Skipton man Rory Johnson-Hatfield is resuming on York's River Ouse today.

Boats operated by the police Regional Underwater Search Team and York Rescue Boat are to take part in the search, which was suspended yesterday because of unfavourable conditions.

Dave Benson, founder of the rescue boat charity, said: "I am hoping we can eliminate this line of inquiry for the peace of mind of the family."

The investigation continued yesterday with officers following up inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.

Mr Johnson-Hatfield, 29, has not been seen since the early hours of last Friday, while he was on a night out in York. He had been staying at the York Central Travelodge in Piccadilly.

Family and relatives have not heard from him and he failed to turn up for work at Brody's Pizzeria in Sheep Street, Skipton, at the weekend.

Restaurant co-owner Jane Hurst said: "Rory is a really super man and well-loved by us all at Brody's. He is extremely good with the customers and they really like him - in many ways he is Brody's.

"He was due to start work at 10am on Saturday and we were very concerned when he didn't arrive.

"Obviously we are still very hopeful that he will turn up safe and well."

Anyone with any information should call police on 101.
