THE RESTAURANT where a man was stabbed to death could have its licence revoked after police raised concern over violent incidents.

In April 34-year-old Asim Marku was killed in Dolce Vita bar and restaurant in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton.

The father-of-one was killed at around 10pm after what witnesses described as a “brawl” outside the restaurant.

Hysni Avdyli, 43, of Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow, was arrested on April 17 and charged the following day with the murder.

On September 21 an armed man walked into the restaurant and fired shots at customers, shortly before 17.45pm.

Licensee Myrteza Hilaj was in the restaurant at the time and police have said they do not believe he was involved in any of the incidents.

But officers want to stop the licensable activities at the venue, including alcohol sales and live music as a result.

Licensing officer PC Donna Wilcox said: “Police believe the nature and gravity of these offences which are still under investigation give rise to serious concerns in particular about the clientele attending these premises.

“Due to the crimes being so serious, police would ask the sub-committee to consider revocation in this matter.”

The council’s licensing committee agreed to extend the bar’s hours earlier this year, allowing them to open until 3am and sell alcohol until 2.30am.

A decision will be made at Walthamstow Town Hall
