SHOPS could soon be built on an area of land "blighted by fly tipping" if a newly submitted planning application is approved.
Plans for a mixed use building containing two shops and two, two bedroom flats have been proposed for an area of empty land on South Street in Little Horton.
There were originally two building on the site, but these were demolished years ago for being unsafe.
The new proposals have been submitted by Mr Habib, whose application says: "The site is frequently blighted with fly tipping, which causes both expense to clear by the land owner and is a nuisance and unsightly to neighbouring properties.
"The proposed development will bring a potential plot of nuisance land into use. With having living accommodation above the retail space it will reduce the potential for crime."
A decision on the application will be made early next year.
