BRADFORD South MP Judith Cummins went back to school to be quizzed by pupils.

Ms Cummins was given a guided tour of Hill Top CE Primary School by its head boy, Teddie Shepherd, 11, and head girl, Catherine Kershaw, aged ten.

She was also quizzed by its school council and took questions from parents and carers about community issues during her visit to the school in Common Road, Low Moor.

Ms Cummins' invite came after Hill Top's school council paid a visit to the Houses of Parliament, during an annual trip to London made by the group.

During the visits the children were given a tour of the Houses of Parliament and attended a series of workshops based around democracy and having a voice.

The school council met regularly during the week before Ms Cummins' visit to come up with questions to ask her.

She was quizzed on the length of the school day and the prices of holidays charged by travel companies and asked for her thoughts on the Syrian refugee crisis.

Headteacher Des Martin said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for our children to have an appreciation of the work a local MP does and we are very proud of the thought that they have put in to some of the challenging questions they put to Judith Cummins."
