STUDENTS from different faiths braved the wet weather to hand out 200 artificial flowers to passers-by in City Park.

The giveaway formed part of the University's week-long activities to mark National Interfaith Week, which ends on Saturday.

The group, which included students from the University's Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Islamic faith groups, left the Richmond Road site and walked to Centenary Square to give out the flowers.

Each of the flowers included a label tied into it which read 'Living in Peace, Happy Interfaith Week'.

Reverend Suzanne Vernon-Yorke, of the University of Bradford, who organised the event, said: "We receive a good response from all of the people that we gave the flowers too.

"They stopped and had a chat with us and wanted to know more about Interfaith Week.

"It was our way to bring a smile to people's faces and spread peace.

"It was really appropriate to do this, particularly after the Paris terror attacks last week."

Other events during Interfaith week include an old school sports day at the University's campus and an inter-faith walk.
