A MAN is in hospital with a broken kneecap and hand after a street attack in Manningham.

It happened shortly after 5pm yesterday in St Paul's Road when the 49-year-old man was beaten to the ground by two men.

The attackers were both wearing hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms. The weapon was believed to be a pick axe handle.

The victim is being treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

One of the suspects is described as an Asian male, about 6ft tall and of stocky build.

Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said: "Our enquiries suggest that this was a targeted attack."
