A WOMAN in her 70s suffered minor injuries after a burglary at her home in Shipley last night.

The victim was pushed to the floor by a man who made demands for money and jewellery, after she answered a knock on her door in Wrose Mount at around 6.30pm.

The jewellery she was wearing was taken and other jewellery and cash was also stolen.

The man who made the demands is believed to be Asian and spoke in English.

He is thought to have been accompanied by three other males who all ran off towards Haslam Grove.

The victim also suffered bruising, but was otherwise unhurt.

Detective Inspector Ben McDonald, of Bradford District CID, said: "This would have been a frightening incident for the victim, who is understandably shocked by what happened.

"Our enquiries are continuing and I would ask anyone who saw a male, or group of males acting suspiciously in the area around the above time to contact DC 1251 Whitley at Bradford District CID on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
