LITTLE fundraisers collected over £16,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Children, staff and parents from Busy Bees Nursery in Walthamstow were among a group of 13 nurseries who collected cash for the hospital.

Fun runs, cake sales, dress up days and discos were among the events at which the funds were collected.

Staff, children and parents at Busy Bees attended a cheque presentation at Great Ormond Street Hospital to hand over the £16,484.58 they raised during 2014 for the children’s hospital.

The money Busy Bees raised will be used to fund two oesophageal dopplers, a tool to measure blood flow and heart function during surgery.

Catherine Sykes, fundraising executive for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “The amount of money Busy Bees raised for us is staggering, and we can’t thank enough all the staff, parents and children for their efforts.

“The money will be used to buy two critical pieces of equipment, which will help to improve outcomes for patients undergoing major surgery.

“We’re incredibly thankful to everyone at Busy Bees who helped raise these vital funds for the hospital.”
