Police are treating a building fire in the centre of Bradford as suspected arson.
Fire crews were called to a blaze in Airedale House, a large six-storey building in Sunbridge Road, at about 10.50pm on Thursday.
Firefighters from Bradford and Fairweather Green took about an hour to put out the blaze, which was contained to a downstairs room.
Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets, while a pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the building.
The caretaker of the building was alerted by the burglar alarm and helped the fire crews in getting into the building.
A fire spokesman said they believed that a window at the back had been smashed, which triggered the burglar alarm.
He said: "Fortunately the fire was contained to the downstairs room. There is smoke damage to the building, but the fire damage is just in this one room."
Police are investigating the incident as suspicious and inquiries are ongoing.
