THE owner of a Bradford shop is in hospital today after he was slashed in the face by a knifeman.
The victim, named locally as Ikhlaq Mahmood, was taken to hospital by ambulance after the incident last night at his shop, Ikhlaq Halal Mini-Market and Rotihouse, in Bradford Road, Frizinghall.
A number of police vehicles attended the scene, some time after 8pm, and the shop premises were cordoned off today with an officer guarding the entrance.
A resident said it was thought that Mr Mahmood had been slashed in the face with a knife.
Police confirmed that "an incident was running".
