THIS year's Bingley Music Live has proved so popular that extra tickets for the three day festival have been made available.

The biggest musical event in the Bradford district always attracts thousands of fans to Myrtle Park each year, but this year organisers have reported that ticket sales are at the highest they have been in four years.

Starting tomorrow, the Bradford Council-run festival will, for the first time, feature four headliners over the three days.

Demand for the festival has apparently not been as high since 2011, when it was headlined by Chase & Status, Maximo Park and Fun Lovin Criminals.

Lee O'Hanlon, one of the promoters of the event, said: "Ticket sales to date have been better than they have been in the last four years, and as a result of that we have released more tickets. People can still buy them and collected them at the box office.

"It is a cracking line up this year, and the hope is that the festival becomes bigger and better each year.

"The forecast at the moment is for the weekend to be dry, so hopefully people won't need their wellies."

Tomorrow night the main stage will be headlined by classic indie band James and will feature performances from Scouse rockers Cast, two tone ska band The Beat, Gallery Circus and Glasgow's Holy Esque opening the festival.

Earlier this summer James guitarist Saul Davies said Bingley was an important gig for the band, as they were playing relatively few concerts this year.

Tomorrow the festival will be headlined by hip hop, dance and Rn'B star Labrinth, who has topped the chart as a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians.

Sub headlining on the Saturday are punk rockers Ash, who have had over 18 top 20 songs in a career spanning over 20 years which has also seen them headline Glastonbury.

Also playing on the Saturday is hotly tipped singer Ella Eyre, and fresh of headlining Leeds Festival with his main band Libertines, Carl Barat and the Jackals.

On Sunday two bands will play headline sized sets - alternative rock band Idlewild play the first of the two sets while Super Furry Animals close out the festival.

There will also be DJ sets by Radio 1 stars Huw Stephens, Scott Mills and Chris Stark who, alongside Propaganda DJs, will be providing change-over sets between acts over the weekend.

The second stage will feature up and coming bands and artists, and over the weekend feature performances by Rae Morris, Deaf School, Scott Matthews and Andrew French.

And like other years festival goers are encouraged to don fancy dress for the event, with this year's theme being super heroes.
