HUNDREDS of students and protesters gathered at a Bradford school to mark a year since a teacher was suspended for posting a pro-Palestinian message online.
Asif Khan was suspended in September last year by Carlton Bolling College, Undercliffe, for posting an anti-Israeli comment on his personal Facebook account.
Protesters lined up outside Carlton Bolling College shouting 'Where is Asif?' as students left school at 3pm yesterday.
There were verbal exchanges between protesters and police officers as banners were also held up.
Protesters called for Mr Khan to be reinstated to be school he had served for 14 years.
Faz Khan, 38, of Bradford Moor, said: "This could have been dealt with on a one-to-one basis.
"He was brilliant for the children. We want him to be reinstated.
"We want to make sure that he is not forgotten.
Another protester, who did not wish to be named, said: "For what I know it's a trivial matter that could have been dealt with in-house."
A Carlton Bolling School spokesman said: "The demonstration relates to a HR issue involving an individual member of staff and is being dealt with through the normal procedures by the school’s Interim Executive Board and will be concluded shortly.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further."
