TWO men have raised more than £850 for Macmillan Cancer Support after tackling a 127 mile bike ride from Liverpool to Leeds.

Adrian Womersley, 29, and Daniel Keeshan, 42, who both work at the Macmillan offices in Shipley, aimed to raised £600 through their cycle challenge, but their efforts have already seen them bring in £866.20 for the charity.

The pair left Mr Womersley's home in Yeadon at 2am on Friday morning, and arrived home at midnight on Saturday after 15 hours of peddling.

His partner Laura-Jay Womersley, said that they had recently had a baby girl, so Adrian did struggle to train for the ride.

"I am so proud of them both. they really did struggle towards the end, but I think it proves how good friends they are to get each other through something like that," she added.

"Both of them work for Macmillan Cancer Support and see daily the effects that cancer has on people but they have both also been effected by family members and friends that have suffered with cancer or lost their lives to cancer.

"They both wanted to do something challenging to enable them to raise more money."
