A MAN accused of risking the lives of patients by starting a blaze at Bradford Royal Infirmary has been ordered to stay away from the hospital unless he needs medical help.

Wojciesk Zychal, 42, is charged with setting fire to a medical waste bin and towel dispenser on August 14, intending to destroy or damage property or being reckless as to whether property would be destroyed or damaged and intending to endanger the life of the occupants of Ward 6.

Zychal, of Clive Terrace, Bradford city centre, was assisted by a Polish interpreter at his first appearance at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

He will next appear at the court on November 12 for a case management hearing.

His trial two day was fixed for January 4.

Judge Robert Bartfield (pictured) bailed Zychal with the warning that he must not attend at the hospital unless he has a medical reason to be there.
