A SECOND man has been summonsed to appear in court over an incident where a police helicopter was allegedly targeted by laser pointers.

A 20-year-old man from Keighley was arrested in Shipley at 11.20pm on Sunday on suspicion of endangering an aircraft. He was interviewed by British Transport Police and reported to court for summons.

The incident happened while a police helicopter was searching for an elderly man who had gone missing. The man was later found, but during their search the helicopter crew reported separate incidents of a laser being shone in a pilot's eyes.

The other alleged incident took place in Bradford at about 9pm and led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Bradford man.

He will appear before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on September 29 after being charged with the Air Navigation order offence.
