CREATIVE families took part in a drop-in spoken word poetry workshop held at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery.
Leeds-based performance poet Michelle Scally Clarke led the session where visitors formed their own poetic responses to the collections at the Lister Park venue.
A group of 20 children, aged between five and 11 alongside their parents, took inspiration from the art pieces on display and received one-to-one tuition to help write poems.
The event, on Thursday, was one of many held during the school summer holiday which have also included drop-in arts and crafts activities.
Sofia Maskin, learning and outreach officer for Bradford Museums and Art Galleries, based at Cartwright Hall, said it was hoped the poetry workshops would return in the future after they proved a success.
She added: "This was the first family drop-in poetry workshop that we have had. This was a test to have something like this and we would like to run it again.
"As soon as people got into the session, and had the one-to-one tuition, they really got into it.
"They were even surprised by what they produced."
