ILKLEY Grammar School said its students were "jubilant" at a fantastic set of A level results which set new records for the school.
The school, on Cowpasture Road, achieved its highest ever points scores per student and points per exam entry, with a 99 per cent pass rate, 39 per cent A*/A and 90 per cent A*/C grades, there was real cause for celebration.
There were outstanding performances from a whole range of students, including Calum Carslaw and Rhiannon Savage, each with 4 A*s, Tom Bennett and Samuel Hill with 3A*s and Alex Burnett, Matthew Leedham and Jess Parker each with 2A*s and an A..
The school also expects to see its highest ever number of students progressing onto university study this year, with a record number moving on to Cambridge University to study courses including Medicine and Natural Science.

She said: "This is a fabulous set of results of which our students and staff members can be rightly proud! The hard work and effort that has gone into achieving this has paid off and I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who has had a part to play."
