A PLANNED drive through take away on a busy Bradford road has been blocked because of its likely impact on traffic.

Rachel Denton applied to convert an insurance office in Sticker Lane, called the Drive In Centre, into a take away, but planning officer on Bradford Council have refused the application.

Last year, plans to turn the site into a car wash were also refused.

A report by planning officers said: "The proposed hot food takeaway use is likely to generate a high level of traffic with frequent vehicle movements anticipated owing to the nature of the use.

"The Council's Highways officer has noted that the slowing down of vehicles entering the site may conflict with vehicles emerging from Cutler Heights Lane. Further concerns are raised in respect of the on site parking facilities.

"The proposal would be likely to result in the queuing and manoeuvring of vehicles in the highway which would interfere with the free flow of traffic and the operation of the Sticker Lane and Cutler Heights Lane junction, to the detriment of highway safety."
