PHIL Parkinson would not be drawn on Jussi Jaaskelainen's chances of signing for City.

The former Finland international, who has been training at the club, played the second half of today's 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Parkinson said of the 40-year-old: "There’s no doubting he’s got a desire to play. Whether he comes to us or doesn’t, he needed some game time and it was ideal for him to have 45 minutes.

"We'll see what happens."

The City chief was pleased with his side's performance in Michael Duff's testimonial, which Burnley won with goals from Lukas Jutkiewicz and Matt Taylor.

Parkinson added: “We acquitted ourselves well. We had some good spells in the game and there were some great chances.

“I thought we were the team in the ascendancy in the period up to their second goal. We looked a strong team and fit, which is important at this stage.

“Burnley are a team who were in the Premier League last year and have some real quality footballers with the likes of George Boyd and their front two.

“Obviously you never want to lose but in terms of the work-out, the test and the competitive element of the game, I thought it was all there.”
