A 23-YEAR-OLD man was due to appear in court today in connection with the death of Michael McDermott, who was struck by a car as he crossed Leeds Road at Thornbury in his mobility scooter.
Mr McDermott, 70, died at the scene after he was hit by a black Seat Leon, near to the junction with Thornbury Avenue, in February this year.
Najeeb Hussain, of Addison Avenue, Bradford Moor, was appearing before magistrates, on charges of causing Mr McDermott's death by dangerous driving; failing to stop after an accident; failing to report it; causing death by driving while uninsured and unlicensed.
