A WOMAN pedestrian who was in collision with a bus at the Bradford Interchange is in a critical condition.

The 54-year-old woman, from Shipley, suffered serious head injuries in the incident, which happened at around 8am yesterday.

Paramedics treated her at the scene and she was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, but later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary, where she is understood to be in intensive care.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the woman was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the collision which happened as the Volvo single decker bus was leaving the station.

The spokesman said her condition was described as critical but stable.

There were no other injuries.

The spokesman said the bus driver has been spoken to by police and inquiries into the incident were continuing.
