A TEENAGER who rode his motorbike in the grounds of Bingley Cemetery has been warned his vehicle will be seized if he steps out of line in the next 12 months.

The 19-year-old was visited by police at Bingley home after a member of the public jotted down the bike's registration after spotting it in the cemetery on Saturday, July 25.

It was being ridden at speed along the narrow paths by several riders.

The 19-year-old admitted to police what he had done.

A police spokesman said: "It shouldn’t have to be explained to anyone that a cemetery is there for people to pay their respects to loved ones.

"They should be able to do that without the fear of being knocked over or generally harassed."

The rider and his bike have been issued with a section 59 warning under the Police Reform Act for anti-social use of that vehicle at that location.

"Should he step out of line within the next 12 months then his vehicle will be seized and he will be taking a trip to the magistrates' court regarding his anti-social behaviour," the spokesman added.
