The countdown to the opening of Bradford's new The Broadway shopping centre is on, with just 100 days to go until the doors are opened to shoppers for the first time.

To mark the start of the official countdown to the launch, The Broadway has released previously unseen, time-lapse footage - produced by Bradford Council - of the site’s transformation.

The £260 million development, the largest UK retail centre to launch this year, will open on Thursday, November 5, in time for the Christmas rush.

"The exclusive time lapse footage shows just how far we’ve come and it’s really exciting to see it all come together.

"Not only will the centre provide an unrivalled retail environment for shoppers in Bradford and the surrounding areas, but it will also deliver a significant boost to the local and regional economy whilst continuing to attract inward investment for the City’s regeneration. We are looking forward to welcoming the community through our doors on November 5.”

Councillor David Green, Leader of Bradford Council, said: “These are exciting times for Bradford, with all the new investment coming to the city, and now we are just over three months away from the opening of The Broadway.

"The Broadway is a key part of the ongoing regeneration of Bradford city centre and has been key in building confidence in the district.”
