THOUSANDS of people flocked to a charity festival in Bradford which was held to celebrate Eid.
Organisers of the Bradford Eid Festival, which was held over the weekend in Bradford Moor Park, said they hoped to have raised about £6,000 for Islamic Relief.
Mohammed Atique, one of the organisers, said the charity would be using the money for water projects in Africa.
On the event, he added: "It has been a success. There must have been about 6,000 people come through over the weekend.
"It achieved its aim of bringing the community together. There has been a lot of negativity in Bradford recently, and negative perceptions.
"As a whole the community was feeling down, there's been a feeling of doom and gloom. The idea was that this event would bring everyone together to enjoy themselves."
Among the attractions at the festival were fairground rides and a bazaar.
Visitors to the event were also able to enjoy a food court, live music and a supercar show.
"Everyone has enjoyed it," added Mr Atique.
