MORE than 200 disabled and able-bodied children took part in a three-day activity extravaganza.

The event, hosted by Bradford Phab and Saltaire Cricket Club, included cricket, archery, inflatables, arts and crafts, and live dance.

Ijaz Khan, of Phab and a player for Saltaire, said: "The children have been mixing together and enjoying activities on a level playing field. It was great to see them all work together.

"It has gone very well and we have had a very good turnout over the three days of more than 200 kids.

"We had lots of stuff going on. It's been really good, feedback has been good, and we are hoping to do it again in August.

"The biggest positive was that, given the number of kids we had, the way they mixed in helping each other is brilliant.

"By the end of it some people had made some very good friendships that they will hopefully take on from here."

Former sports minister and Bradford South MP Gerry Sutcliffe attended today's final day at Roberts Park, Saltaire, alongside Bingley runner Chris Cariss to congratulate the children.

Mr Sutcliffe said: "Bradford is building up quite a reputation for disability sport."
