A FUNDRAISING website has been set-up to help meet the funeral costs of a man killed in Bradford.

The website, set-up in the name of Crystal Vanzie, said it hopes to give Leroy Vanzie “the best send off that he rightly deserves.”

Mr Vanzie was found with severe head injuries on the pavement outside the block of flats where he lived in Corban Street, Dudley Hill, on Tuesday night.

LATEST: DETECTIVES RELEASE TWO MEN ON BAIL IN BRADFORD MURDER PROBE

Detectives are probing the death and have arrested two men on suspicion of murder.

Tributes describe the 32-year-old actor and model as a popular, thoughtful and generous person.

The fundraising website has a target of £5,000.

It includes a thank you message to people who have supported the family as it comes to terms with the sudden death and a video tribute to Mr Vanzie.

“We are inviting Leroy's friends and family to pledge a donation and help give him the best send off that he rightly deserves,” the website reads.

It says Leroy Barrington Vanzie was born in June 1983 to Susan Brown and Barrington Vanzie, adding that he was a much loved brother, uncle and “dear friend” to many.

“Leroy was a keen actor and model, he enjoyed travelling and was always the life-and-soul at social gatherings.

“Leroy was a very kind and generous person and enjoyed the company of others including his beloved pet dogs, he was an extremely talented young man with a lot to offer the world.”

It describes death as tragic, saying his life “wrongfully taken from him”.

“Leroy's family have been left devastated beyond explanation and although it is such a difficult time for them all right now, the amount of support that they have received during this sad time has been very much appreciated and welcomed, they would like to thank in advance anybody who would like to make a contribution towards Leroy's send off,” it says.

In a statement released this afternoon, a police spokesman said: "Leroy's family will not be speaking to the media and have requested that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."

Mr Vanzie is listed on the IMDb website, where actors can detail their portfolio of work.

His biography says his mother is from Liverpool and his father originated from Kingston Town, Jamaica.

It also mentions Crystal, his sister, and a brother called Ashley, alongside other half-brothers and sisters.

“Leroy is a keen actor and has mainly done extra work and music videos,” it says.

“He has also done some modelling and appeared on the 2012 series of Playing It Straight.”

His credits include TV movies Bent Coppers and Yasmin.
