HEALTHWATCH Bradford has been highly commended twice at the national Healthwatch Network Conference, which was held in Manchester.
The team received two highly commended awards, one in the diversity and inclusion category for its work involving people with learning disabilities, and a second for its joint work with other West Yorkshire Healthwatch teams on access to dental services.
A spokesman for the independent organisation, which aims to give communities a stronger voice to influence how health and social care services are provided in the district, said the success of its work with people with learning disabilities was down to a strong partnership with local People First organisations and to the enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers.
It plans to hold an event to celebrate and recognise its achievements.
