A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and neglect following a police raid on a house in Bradford.

Officers seized two dogs and three cockerels after executing an animal welfare warrant on an address in Dalby Avenue at about 9am on Wednesday.

Police attended the property in a joint operation with the RSPCA after receiving information from the public that a resident was suspected of being involved with animal cruelty.

Four motorcycles were also recovered in the raid.

The man has now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are currently trying to identify the dogs, which are believed to be a legal breed, and establish ownership of the motorcycles.

The animals are now being cared for by the RSPCA.

Chief Inspector Derek Hughes, wildlife lead for West Yorkshire Police, said: "We would like to thank the public for the information which led to ourselves and the RSPCA executing this successful warrant.

"Animal cruelty is a horrible crime, and this demonstrates that we will work with partners to tackle those suspected of being involved in it."

Anyone concerned about animal cruelty can report it to police by calling 101, or the RSPCA on 0300 123 4999.
