A JURY has heard a phone recording of a Bradford woman allegedly being raped in a man's car.

The complainant, in her mid 20s, accuses 24-year-old Usman Hussain of repeatedly sexually abusing her and beating her during a two year secret relationship.

Hussain denies all the offences, saying the sex was consensual and the recording on the woman's phone was "role play".

He is on trial at Bradford Crown Court accused of seven offences of rape and one of causing the former University of Bradford student actual bodily harm.

Prosecutor Mark McKone said the woman had strong religious beliefs and she was a virgin when she met up with Hussain after they had messaged on Facebook in 2010.

They had consensual sex in his car in Shipley but he went on to rape her in an apartment in Bradford and when they stayed at the Great Victoria Hotel and at a Travelodge hotel, Mr McKone told the jury yesterday.

He alleged Hussain, of Victory Avenue, Paddock, Huddersfield, became "aggressive and controlling and horrible" to the woman.

The court heard that Hussain was in a relationship with another woman at this time and they had a child together.

The relationship with the complainant was kept secret because she knew her parents would not approve on religious grounds.

The trial continues.
