COLOURFUL kites will fill the sky above Shipley Glen during a special afternoon picnic on Sunday.
And everyone is invited to bring food and share in the fun of kite flying from 4pm to 6pm opposite Bracken Hall Countryside Centre, on Glen Road.
Baildon Churches Together are holding the picnic-and-praise event, said retired methodist minister Rev Derek Hoe.
He explained the thinking behind the event.
"The idea came from Churches Together, which is to just have a relaxed time of fun, fellowship and kites.
"It will just be plain and simple and with outdoor praise and worship.
"There is a lot to be thankful for."
If rain stops play, the event, predictably without kites, will be held at Baildon Methodist Church on Newton Way, Baildon.
