A FAMILY man who resorted to drug dealing to pay for his addiction when he lost his job has been jailed for two years.

Anthony O'Hara, 37, (pictured) was arrested when police found a £1,000 stash of heroin and crack cocaine at his home in Reevy Crescent, Buttershaw, Bradford.

He pleaded guilty to supplying Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that police raided O'Hara's address on December 19 last year.

He showed officers the heroin and crack cocaine stored in his bedroom and was immediately fully frank with them.

O'Hara said he had been street dealing for two to three months to fund his own drugs habit.

His solicitor Kam Dhesi said his client had showed "a refreshing level of honesty and frankness" with the police.

He had been a hard working man for 20 years but came under pressure to drug deal when he lost his employment.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC told O'Hara: "It is a great shame to see you where you are.

"It is a sad story of a hard working family man addicted to these drugs and falling out of work."

The court heard that all the drugs had been seized and destroyed and there was no Proceeds of Crime Application to confiscate any assets or money from O'Hara.
