A MAN aged 41 sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl while she was standing on a chair to change a light bulb.

George Davison was drunk when he molested the teenager in front of partygoers at a house in Bingley, Bradford Crown Court heard today.

He was sentenced to three months imprisonment, suspended for two years, by Judge Jonathan Rose who said it was "a very unpleasant and disgusting" offence.

Davison, who now lives at Kerrison Mews, Brighton, was banned by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order from contacting his victim ever again.

He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting her late on July 12 last year.

Prosecutor Sophie Drake said Davison put his hand on the girl's leg, over her jeans, and touched her private parts in the kitchen at the house.

His actions were witnessed by other guests and he was told to leave.

Davison told the police he "grabbed her bottom for a laugh".

The court heard that the teenager suffered flashbacks and now had to sleep with the light on.

Judge Rose was told that Davison had written to her to apologise. The letter would be handed over by the police if she wanted to read it.

He was ashamed and disgusted with himself and tackling his drink problem.

The judge said Davison "violated the woman's privacy."

He must undergo supervision from the probation service and do 180 hours of unpaid work.

Davison must also sign on the sex offenders' register for seven years.
