A COLLECTION of sporty cars revved up for the Bradford Classic Rally today by taking to the track.

Drivers of rally cars, including two Subaru Imprezas and a 1968 Mark 1 Ford Escort, ran the rule over Bowling Park.

A total of 65 rally cars will battle it out during the annual event, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, on Sunday, August 16. They will include a Lancia Delta S4, which competed in the 1986 Monte Carlo Rally, and a Ferrari 308.

More than 100 classic, performance and rally cars will also go on display as part of the weekend event, which is at City Park on the first day and Bowling Park on the second.

Director of Motion Motorsport Events Management, which is running the show, Guy Williams said: "Rallying is coming back to Bradford and this event is to celebrate ten years of the Bradford Classic Rally.

"It's not just a demonstration, it's a live action rally show. It's a great opportunity for people to see these cars in action."
