FURTHER details have been released about the body of a woman found in bushes in Keighley.

The victim, who was discovered at Vernon Court, in the town at around 3.55pm yesterday, is believed to be local and in her 60s.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Snow, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "A post mortem has been completed and has confirmed this death was not suspicious.

"This appears to have been a tragic accident and a file will now be passed to the Coroner for further investigation."

She was found by a resident who contacted emergency services.

Earlier, Ch Insp Snow said: "Forensic officers have been conducting enquiries at the scene and we have been speaking with residents and neighbours in the area as we seek to build up a picture of what took place.

Emergency services were at the scene yesterday, including police cars, police vans, ambulance and fire service.

Nearby Vernon Hall, which is divided up into flats, was cordoned off by police last night.

It is not yet clear if the woman was a resident of Vernon Hall.

Residents of Vernon Court last night spoke of their upset at the discovery.

Ash Siddique said: “I’m completely shocked and surprised. You do not expect anything like that to happen round here.”
