WOMEN are being urged to speak up about healthcare issues that matter to them at a summit to be hosted in Bradford this week.

Bradford’s NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are supporting the summit tomorrow, which has been organised by the Bradford & District Women’s Forum.

The CCGs will join the council and other partners at the event to talk to women about local health issues, share the CCGs’ plans for maternity, child and women’s health services and listen to any concerns and questions they may have.

The three key priorities identified for women’s health for Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCGs are health screening, maternal and child health, and maternity care.

Dr Anne Connolly, the CCGs’ clinical lead for women’s health, said: “Improving maternal and child health is a priority for both our CCGs, but we can only make positive changes with input from local women who tell us what really matters to them. Hearing women’s stories of using different services and their suggestions for improvement can help us review services and develop new ones, where needed.
