A GROUP of Bradford funeral homes is appealing for donations of Easter eggs to give to children.

Staff at The Co-operative Funeralcare, Lane Ends, Eccleshill, are urging residents to donate Easter eggs to the funeral home all for the benefit of the Swain House Community Action Group.

David Nunn, manager of The Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “There are many youngsters in the local area who may welcome a bit of extra cheer this Easter.

“As a business at the heart of the community, we want to do our bit by trying to put a smile on as many local youngsters’ faces as possible.”

Easter eggs can be handed to a member of staff at the funeral home until this Friday.

The collection of Easter eggs will be presented to The Swain House Community Action Group on Monday, March 30.

The group will use the donation of eggs to hold an Easter egg hunt and teddy bears picnic at their Easter event on Saturday, April 4.

Other Co-operative Funeralcare branches taking part in the Easter egg appeal are at Allerton Road, Allerton, Tong Street, Bradford, Legrams Lane, Bradford and Carr Lane, Shipley.
