DOZENS of Bradford City fans queued overnight to ensure they could get their hands on sought-after tickets for the team's FA Cup replay, which went on sale more widely at 10am this morning.

A chance to see the vital quarter-final rematch against Reading on Monday night in person, prompted just over 100 people to head to Valley Parade early ahead of the ticket office opening. Some had queued from before midnight, with the first person waiting in line from 8pm last night.

After the early morning rush, the club confirmed that by lunchtime there were no queues and there were still "plenty" of tickets available both at the ground and online.

The man, who should have been at work, so wanted to remain anonymous, said: "One of the reasons I came down so early was not just to guarantee a ticket, but so that I could get away as early as possible and get back to work.

"I've been to all the cup matches - both home and away, and I'm here to get five tickets today for friends and family."

He added that he was nervous about the cup-tie and predicted the match would go to penalties, but said City had a winning streak when it came to penalty shoot outs.

Despite the cold and the lack of sleep, spirits were high, and as the shutters rolled up, fans were keen to claim their tickets.

The club, which had come under fire for allowing unlimited ticket sales for last Saturday's home clash with Reading, decided to sell its 3,960 seat allocation on a one for one basis.

Priority away card holders had been able to snap up tickets online from Tuesday, as well as from the ticket office from noon yesterday.

However, today was the first chance for season ticket and flexi card holders. Approximately 1,000 tickets were expected to be available today at the ground, as well as 1,000 online.
