A MEMBER of Keighley Town Council has been chosen to be the Ukip candidate for Keighley West in election for Bradford Council in May.
Councillor George Firth (pictured), of Whin Knoll Avenue, Keighley, won a seat in the Fell Lane & Westburn ward of the town council last April.
He sits on several committees, including planning – where he is vice-chairman – watch & transport, events & leisure, allotments and the complaints committee.
He said: "I feel very honoured to have been picked and I'm champing at the bit to get out there and do my bit for the town."
