POLICE have raided a cannabis factory in Barkerend, Bradford, following a tip-off from the public and recovered about 100 cannabis plants.
Officers in the Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team yesterday afternoon swooped on an address in Percival Street because of suspicions about activity there.
They forced entry to the address and found the plants inside, at various stages of growth.
There was also hydroponic equipment used to grow plants, along with other drugs paraphernalia. There was also evidence that the electricity meter had been bypassed.
Officers are now trying to trace those responsible for setting up the factory.
Ward Sergeant Tany Ditta said: “West Yorkshire Police is committed to reducing drug related offences. I encourage local residents to contact the police if you have any information in relation to drugs in your area.
“This is a significant recovery, your local officers will take a robust stance against cannabis cultivation, use and dealing, and we rely on the public to assist us.”
