FORECASTERS have warned that snow could return to the Bradford area today with enough to cause hazardous driving conditions into tomorrow.

According to the Met Office, frequent sleet, snow and hail showers can be expected throughout today, persisting well into tomorrow before the weather clears up.

The expect snow at low levels to be "transient" but say on ground about 200 metres, snowfall between five and ten centimetres deep should be expected.

It has also warned motorists to beware that icy patches are possible at times on untreated roads, especially tonight.

Added to that, winds are expected to be strong, with gusts of up to 60 mph.

A spokesman said: "The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel and for hazardous driving conditions at times."

England is expected to escape more lightly than Scotland and Northern Ireland, which may experience heavier snowfall.
