A MOTHER-OF-TWO has been jailed for 12 months after she pulled out a woman's hair in a drunken, racial attack.

Stacey Haughey, 29, of Beech Tree Close, Keighley, attacked Samantha Ali on her doorstep, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

She went round to confront Miss Ali over allegations that her son had been bullied.

Haughey pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault and racially aggravated disorderly conduct on November 11.

The court heard that she grabbed a handful of Miss Ali's hair and pulled it out.

Prosecutor Michael Smith said the attack had had "a massive impact" on Miss Ali.

Haughey's solicitor advocate, Arshad Mahmood, said: "She is absolutely devastated at the harm she has caused."

She was very remorseful and had let herself, her family and her children down.

Haughey apologised to Miss Ali the next day and it was a one-off incident, completely out of character.

But Judge Jonathan Rose said she had previous convictions for assault and drunk and disorderly behaviour.

It was "a determined piece of violence" that had left Miss Ali with hair loss and psychological trauma.

"You were drunk and in a position where trouble would come," Judge Rose said.
