A CHARITY dinner at a Bradford school later this month will help fund micro businesses in the developing world.

Tong High School has organised a charity auction as part of the Micro Tyco Enterprise Challenge, Last year the school raised £3,657 during the month long fundraising competition, run by the Wildhearts Foundation.

It asks pupils to come up with entrepreneurial ideas to turn a small investment into a large charity haul.

The school won the national category of the challenge last year and came third in the global challenge.

All the money raised by the school had grown from a £1 investment from the Wildhearts Foundation, and has gone on to fund 73 micro businesses in the developing world.

The school now hopes to spread the message about foundation across Bradford by hosting a large charity event for businesses and individuals on Friday, February 27, at The Bradford Hotel in Hall Ings.

The meal, for over 16s, includes a three course buffet meal and entertainment throughout the night, including a speech by boxer Qais Ashfaqs, Commonwealth Game Silver Medallist.
