A CONVICTED paedophile is to go on trial at Bradford Crown Court on July 1 accused of five breaches of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

David Betts, 64, of Heybeck Walk, Holme Wood, Bradford, faces four charges of inviting three children aged under 18 into his home address without reasonable excuse, between March 1 and December 8 last year.

Another count of the same offence involves an allegation that he invited one child into his home.

Betts appeared in front of the Crown Court by video link from Leeds Prison today.

He must attend a case management hearing on April 29.

Betts was sentenced to a three-and-a-half year extended prison term on January 23, 2012 after he admitted a string of indecent assaults on a vulnerable teenager.

He was made subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for an indefinite period.
