MEMBERS of a Bradford band are delighted to be unveiling their new album in their home city this weekend.

Scars on 45, who have had songs featured on a range of popular US television programmes, will start the promotion of their new album, Safety in Numbers, at the Record Cafe, North Parade on Sunday.

The four-piece band, who all come from the Bradford district, are made up of lead singer and guitarist Danny Bemrose, vocalist Aimee Driver, keyboard player David 'Nova' Nowakowski and drummer Chris Durling.

Their appearance in Bradford will be followed by a UK tour later this month with dates in London, Manchester, Glasgow and at the Leeds Wardrobe on February 27.

Mr Nowakowski says the band, who are currently on tour in the US and have previously performed on hit American show The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, are excited to be holding Sunday's event, between 2pm and 4pm, in front of their family and friends.

He said: "It's great to be launching the album in our hometown.

"It's nice to share the release with our family and friends.

"The record cafe is such a cool bar that's recently opened in Bradford.

"The overall vibe and atmosphere inside is perfect for something like this.

"The US tour has been great on this run.

"We've got two brand new singles on the radio in the US which we are busy promoting.

"We're also back in the studio making new music with our producer Eric Olson in Minneapolis.

"It's really exciting for the band and we can't wait for people to hear the album.

"After our UK tour, we will return to the US for more promotional dates, with a return in May to the UK."

The Record Cafe, which opened in November last year, sells vinyl records, real ale and ham at their Bradford city centre site.

Keith Wildman, owner of the Record Cafe, said: "It's great for an internationally well-known band to come in to launch their album here.

"This is exactly the kind of event I wanted to do when I set the cafe up.

"It's a double whammy. It's a homecoming for the band and helps raise the profile of the cafe.

"Hopefully it will be the first of many of these types of events."

The band, whose tunes have been heard on CSI: New York and Grey's Anatomy, were handed a civic reception in their home city last month, held at City Hall by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, and the Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Sharp.

They will also record the theme song for the latest series of BBC drama The Syndicate, following the lives of five Yorkshire supermarket workers who win the lottery.
